Where to Find Allthemodium in ATM10 (Ore Guide)

Sooner or later, every ATM10 playthrough runs into the same wall: a recipe that wants Allthemodium, and an inventory that has none. Allthemodium, Vibranium and Unobtainium are the three tiered metals from the Allthemodium mod, and huge chunks of the pack are gated behind them. This guide covers where each ore actually spawns in All The Mods 10, how to mine it, and what to make with your first few ingots.

Why these three metals gate everything

Allthemodium, Vibranium and Unobtainium form a strict tier ladder. You need a netherite-tier pickaxe to mine Allthemodium, an Allthemodium-tier tool to mine Vibranium, and a Vibranium-tier tool to mine Unobtainium. There is no skipping steps. On top of the tool ladder, the three metals and their alloys appear in recipes across the whole pack, from teleport pads to endgame gear, all the way up to the ATM Star itself. Finding your first Allthemodium is one of the biggest single unlocks in ATM10.

Allthemodium: the Deep Dark

In the Overworld, Allthemodium ore spawns in the Deep Dark biome, the same biome that holds Ancient Cities and the Warden. The ore glows faintly in the dark, so once you are in a Deep Dark cavern, scan the walls, ceilings and Ancient City structures for the telltale shimmer. A Nature's Compass (craftable early) will point you at the nearest Deep Dark biome so you are not caving blind.

  • Bring a netherite-tier pickaxe, nothing less will break the ore
  • Sneak everywhere, or bring wool to muffle your steps, the Warden is not a fight you want early
  • The ore glows, so turn your brightness up and check cavern roofs, not just floors
  • Completing the Warden-related quest line also rewards Allthemodium, check the quest book

The Mining Dimension shortcut

ATM10 ships with a Mining Dimension, a flat, safe, resource-rich world you reach through a cheap portal (iron bars, torches and a wooden pickaxe to build the frame, check JEI for the exact recipe). Allthemodium also generates there, and many players find their first ore in the Mining Dimension rather than the Deep Dark because there is no Warden to worry about. Exact depth bands have shifted between pack versions, so check JEI or EMI in game for the current spawn range rather than trusting an old Y-level from a video. As a rule of thumb, dig long branch tunnels in the deepslate layers and watch for the glow.

Ore spawn ranges change between ATM10 versions. Press R on the ore in JEI or EMI and look at its world generation info in game, that is always more reliable than a number from an outdated guide.

Vibranium: look up in the Nether

Vibranium ore spawns in the Nether, and the key mistake people make is looking down. It generates at high altitudes, so search near the Nether ceiling rather than the lava lakes at the bottom. Earlier pack versions restricted it to the Crimson Forest and Warped Forest biomes, and those forests are still the classic place to hunt it, so start there and confirm the current rules in your quest book or JEI. The ore tends to generate exposed to air, which makes flying or bridging along cavern roofs with fire resistance the fastest way to spot it.

  • You need an Allthemodium-tier pickaxe to break Vibranium ore
  • Search high, near the Nether ceiling, not near the lava ocean
  • Crimson and Warped Forests are the traditional hunting grounds
  • Vibranium also generates in The Other dimension at lower depths, a second option once you can get there

Unobtainium: the outer End islands

Unobtainium lives in the End, but not on the main dragon island. It spawns in the End Highlands, the large outer islands you reach through the End Gateway after defeating the Ender Dragon. The ore generates inside the crust of the islands at essentially any height, so the usual approach is to pick a big island and tunnel through it, or mine along the underside where ore is often exposed. You need a Vibranium-tier pickaxe, so this is strictly the third step of the ladder.

Mining tips and things that will waste your time

A few quirks of the Allthemodium mod catch almost everyone out. The big one: these ores are player-only. Quarries, Mekanism Digital Miners and other fake-player automation cannot break Allthemodium, Vibranium or Unobtainium ore, even with the right tool tier. You have to swing the pickaxe yourself.

  • Do not build a quarry expecting it to collect these ores, it will mine around them
  • Ore sight style potions exist in the pack, but they have been buggy in some ATM10 versions, so treat them as a bonus rather than a strategy
  • Allthemodium glows on its own, which is honestly the best ore finder in the game
  • Smithing templates for the gear upgrades come from brushing suspicious blocks: suspicious clay in Ancient Cities for Allthemodium and suspicious soul sand in Bastion Remnants for Vibranium, while Unobtainium templates come from dungeon loot in The Other

What to craft first with each metal

Your first ingots are precious, so spend them on things that accelerate finding more. With Allthemodium, upgrade a netherite pickaxe first, because that is the key that unlocks Vibranium. With your first Vibranium, do the same again to unlock Unobtainium. After the tool ladder, look at the Allthemodium teleport pads for fast travel and start saving toward the alloys, which combine two of the metals and sit in a huge number of mid and late game recipes.

  1. Allthemodium: upgrade your netherite pickaxe, then armour pieces as spares allow
  2. Vibranium: upgrade the pickaxe again, then start banking ingots for alloys
  3. Unobtainium: complete the tool set, then work toward the three ATM alloys used in endgame recipes

A note for To The Sky players

On ATM10: To The Sky there is no Deep Dark to spelunk, so the early route to Allthemodium runs through the Ex Deorum sieving system instead. Allthemodium nuggets appear as rare drops when sieving crushed blackstone with diamond or netherite meshes, and from sand with a diamond mesh. The drop rates are low, so automate your sieves before you count on it. Both regular ATM10 and To The Sky run on SiriusMC, they are free to join, PvP is off and land claims keep your base and your hard-won ores safe, so the only thing standing between you and Allthemodium is the mining itself.
