Chesed Boss Guide for StoneBlock 4 (How to Beat It)
Chesed is one of the signature boss fights in StoneBlock 4, and it plays nothing like a normal Minecraft boss. You cannot hit it with a sword, it fills the arena with lightning, and the fight is built around arena mechanics rather than raw damage. This guide covers who Chesed is, how to reach the fight, what to bring, how the fight actually works, and why the drops are worth the trouble.
Who Chesed is and where it comes from
Chesed is a boss from the Qliphoth Awakening mod, which StoneBlock 4 uses for several of its major boss encounters. Each Qliphoth Awakening boss has its own arena, its own set of attacks, and its own gimmick that you have to solve mid-fight. Chesed's gimmick is lightning: the whole encounter revolves around electric attacks, monolith structures that power the boss up, and a reflect mechanic that is the only way to deal damage.
The quest book in StoneBlock 4 walks you through the boss progression, so if you are unsure whether you have reached the point where Chesed is intended, check your quest tree first. The fight is tuned for players who are well into the pack, not fresh out of the starter room.
How to get to the fight
Chesed lives in a dedicated boss arena that generates in the world. You do not build a summoning altar for it. Instead, the flow looks like this:
- Craft or obtain the Eye of Chesed, an item the mod provides to help you locate the arena (check JEI for the recipe in your version of the pack)
- Follow the eye to the arena structure
- Inside the arena, find the boss spawner structure
- Right click the spawner to open a GUI with a full description of Chesed's attacks and mechanics
- Read that description, then press the summon button when you are ready
Gear and preparation
Two things make Chesed punishing for underprepared players. First, its damage ignores resistances, so you cannot shrug the fight off with stacked protection effects alone. Second, the arena is not easy to leave once the fight starts, so plan on finishing what you start.
- Bring a diamond axe or better. An axe is essential for disabling the monoliths, which is a core part of the fight
- Wear the best armor tier you have unlocked. You will get hit, and mitigation still matters even though some damage bypasses resistance effects
- Stock strong, fast healing: golden apples, healing potions, or whatever regeneration options your progression has opened up
- Bring backup weapons and food. Fights can run long on a first attempt
- On the SiriusMC server, sort your claim and storage out before you leave. Dying mid-fight far from home is a bad time to discover your gear is scattered
Exact armor and weapon recommendations depend on which progression path you followed, so treat the quest book as the authority on what tier the pack expects you to have at this stage.
Fight strategy: monoliths, crystals and the reflect
The single most important thing to understand: Chesed cannot be damaged directly. Swinging a sword at it does nothing. Damage comes from reflecting its own lightning back at it, and everything else in the fight exists to either enable that or stop you from doing it.
- Deal with the four monoliths first. They spawn with the boss at 50 HP each and feed the Tenebrae Aeternae ability, a lightning strike that draws power from them. Disable them with your axe to blunt that attack
- Watch for the blue crystals that appear in the corners of the arena during the Crystals ability
- Break one of the blue crystals to gain the Energized II effect
- While energized, position yourself near a Lightning Ray Reflector in the arena
- Line up so Chesed's lightning ray bounces off the reflector and back into the boss. Each successful reflect deals 1 damage
- Repeat the crystal and reflect loop while dodging everything else
Between reflect windows you are dodging the rest of the kit: electrified air, block barrages, earthquakes, the tempest core and rolling thunder. When Chesed drops below half health it enters phase two. The monoliths come back with 100 HP each and the boss adds new tools such as Kinetic Field, so keep your axe handy for round two of monolith clearing.
Drops and why they matter
Chesed's loot is worth the grind, and because the spawner structure resets after the boss dies, you can come back and fight it again for extra copies.
- Lightning Core: enhances a weapon with a 33% chance to strike enemies with lightning, dealing 100% of your weapon damage and applying the Shocked effect. A serious upgrade for the rest of the pack's combat
- Phase Sphere: lets you phase through blocks for 10 seconds on a 5 second cooldown, which is a genuinely game-changing mobility and mining tool in a stone-filled world
- Chesed Trophy: a decorative trophy to prove you did it, ideal for the base or the shop front
After Chesed: what to aim for next
Chesed is not the only Qliphoth Awakening boss in StoneBlock 4. Malkuth awaits with a completely different arena and mechanic set, and the pack's other end-bosses, like the Mighty Ender Chicken, round out the late game. Slot your new Lightning Core weapon in, keep the Phase Sphere on your hotbar, and check the quest book for the next boss chapter.
If you want to run Chesed with friends, the SiriusMC StoneBlock 4 server is free to join, with island protection, PvP disabled, a player economy for trading boss loot, and an active Discord where you can find a co-op partner for your first attempt.
